District Task Committees

 
There are several district committees that were developed for a particular task. These are currently inactive, but may be reconvened at any time based on need. For information about any of these committees, please click on the name of the administrative organizer to send an email.

Guaranteed Energy Savings Act (GESA) Committee
In December 2012, the School Board voted to create this new committee as the school district begins the process to hire an Energy Savings Company (ESCO) to generate energy savings and perform capital project enhancements. The committee's meeting schedule is yet to be determined.

The following district task committees are currently inactive:

The Facilities Planning Committee

The Facilities Planning Committee meets on an as-needed basis to evaluate potential building improvements or projects based on educational needs, and to review the resulting financial impact of any proposed projects. It met most recently in spring of 2012 to review renovations needed at South Elementary School and to address student enrollment concerns at Skippack Elementary School. The committee makes recommendations to the Board of School Directors, who then review the recommendations when developing future building project proposals.

Elementary Standards-Based Report Card Committee

The Elementary Standards-Based Report Card Committee met during the 2008-2009 school year to develop a draft of a new elementary report card for the 2009-2010 school year. The Committee, which presented its recommendation to the School Board on April 6, 2009, was made up of teachers, district administrators, and parents.

Full-Day Kindergarten Committee
The Full-Day Kindergarten Committee was formed as part of a district-wide Task Force and investigated the current half-day kindergarten program, versus the implementation of a full-day program for all students. The committee made a recommendation to the Board of School Directors on May 4, 2009.

Secondary Grading Scale Committee

The Secondary Grading Scale Committee met during the 2008-09 school year to develop a recommendation to the School Board on the secondary grading scale.
