Mr. Gerry Barnefiher

Term:
Board Member Since 2008

Board involvement:

I have served on the School Board since the fall of 2008. I have learned a lot, yet there is so much more to learn. I am a member of Assessment, Communications Advisory, Operations, Finance, and Reviews and Evaluations committees. I also serve on the Negotiations committee for Support Staff and the PVSD Foundation Board, and I attend many other committees on a regular basis.

Reason for School Board Service:
To make a difference and improve communications with the community. For years, I had been involved with the school district on various community committees and finally decided it was time to take my involvement to the next step.

Roots:
I have lived in the Perkiomen Valley for 20 years. I have seen tremendous change in the area during this time, and when I stop to think of how much change there has been, it is truly amazing that there is still a small town atmosphere.

Family:
My wife and I are blessed to have (4) wonderful children that all attend Perkiomen Valley School District. The children attend schools from elementary to high school.

Education & Career:
I am employed by a large healthcare technology company as a Principal Network Engineer.

School & Community Involvement:
Over the years I have been involved with various aspects of the school district. When the children were younger I helped in the classrooms and have been on countless field trips. As a family we enjoy many of the sports and arts that PV has to offer and attend many of these events. I have also been a coach for intra-mural soccer for several seasons where I really enjoy working with kids.
